Abstract
FADs provide shelter to fish and also serve as spawning, feeding and nursery ground to live in. Installation of Fish aggregating Devices help to alleviating the problem of declining fishery resources and to rehabilitate the depleting fish stocks in inshore waters. As most inshore fishery resources are heavily exploited, Fish Aggregating Devices help in prevention of shallow water trawling and enhance the fishery resources. Fishermen spending less time for scouting fish, consequently there is substantial fuel economy.
