Ship-bottom which is always under immersion, and is in direct and constant contact with sea-water is the most vulnerable part of a boat for all types of attack. A successful protective system for the ship-bottom is an important pre-requisite for the efficient management of the fishing fleet. Fishing fleet management calls for a well-planned and rigid maintenance schedule. Periodical coating of the ship-bottom surfaces with selective paints needs expert attention. This paper involves the various ship-bottom protective coating systems.en_US
