- ItemDevelopment of IQF plants in India(Seafood Exporters Association of India, 1990) Pillai, S.A.The paper describes the various stages of the development of different types of IQF plants in India. Some of the machinery are partly imported such as the freezing cabinet and coupled with indigenous refrigeration machinary. Some are fully imported whereas majority are fabricated fully with indigenous components. The paper also describes the essential requirements of IQF plants for producting the latest quality products.
- ItemEnergy consumption and conservation in Indian fisheries(INFOFISH, 1993) George, V.C.; Pillai, S.A.An estimated half of all fuel used by the Indian shipping sector is consumed by, fishing vessels. By resorting to careful section of vessel design and equipment as well as wasteful trapping methods. fuel consumption may be cut by as much as 25-30%

- ItemCIFT dryer JSDE - 6 SM - a hybrid solar dryer with alternate electrical back-up for hygienic preservation of fish and agro-products(Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, 2011) Joshi, P.N.; Nagori, S.A.The hybrid Solar Dryer "CIFT DRYER JSDE-6 SM" is having a Stainless Steel (SS) tray drying area of 6 sq. m with an alternate electrical back up heating system. Effective harnessing of solar energy using specially designed solar air heating panels and proper circulation of the hot air across the SS trays loaded with fish with the help of blowers makes the drying process faster. The detailed structure of this is discussed here.
- ItemFuel efficient propellers(Indian council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi, 2014) Nasser, M.; Lalitha, K.V.; Ashaletha, S.; Geethalekshmi, V.An effort made to systematically analyse the problem of fuel efficiency in motorized fishing fleet and to improve the blade element design of propellers proved fuel saving in ring seiners by 18-21% and a comparatively low cost and practicable solution. With these improved propellers a fuel saving of average minimum 750 litres of diesel per month per boat can be obtained in fishing. The logical steps taken to commercialise the technologythrough equipping the traditional propeller manufacturers in the sector augmented the effort.
