dc.description.abstractThe fish processing industry in India is mainly export oriented. The major portion of the exported items are block frozen shrimp and individually quick frozen shrimp, followed by frozen lobsters, squid and cuttlefish. Diversification of fish processing industry and product is the watch word of the day. Diversified products from low cost fish is very essential for further boosting our exports of marine products. Surimi produced as a base product from low cost fish is becoming popular world-wide.en_US
